A bit of a testimony:
In the midst of a praise that broke out at church yesterday, when I know I haven't done my best or that I've messed up...the enemy get in my head about not being worthy enough to praise and dance before the Lord. When I was younger, I prayed for a dance; and in the middle of a HIGH Friday night service God blessed me with it!
Ever since then, no matter what, praise has truly been my weapon and how I honor God. So the enemy works on that sometimes, as if, if I mess up my praise is a fluke and isn't authentic. Yesterday was no different! As I batteled in my mind, the thought came: "God, I am not worthy." ...and He said to me, "but I Am!" ...And let me tell you, I was completely through after that.
Yes, I praise and thank God for what He has done, but I have to remember the true reason why I praise God. That very reason is because HE IS WORHTY. I praise God because I love Him and because He loves me. I do not praise God because things are well or because I have dotted every i and crossed every t. I don't praise Him because I am perfect, but because HE IS PERFECT! Hallelujah!
If we shift our mindsets to think on how worthy He is and how DESERVING He is...we won't ever sit down on Him, and not just in church...in our every day living. We will take every opportunity to bless Him and praise Him because it truly isn't about us at all. So, when I shift to forgetting about myself and my inconsistencies and my failures...God is able to receive my best praise. It is, too, in that moment that I am convicted as well to do better because God is so good to me regardless of where I find myself.
I would like to put a twist on a popular congregational song that says "I get joy when I think about what He's done for me", and say "I get joy when I think about who He is and who He is to me!!" Hallelujah!!!! Because...what happens when He doesn't do what we want Him too when we want Him too; He still is who He is! So, I believe with that mindset, our praise would stay more consistent. Amen.
I love the Lord and I won't take it back. He has been so good to me!!
