The Encourager: Clean Up Daily

The majority of us do not shower or bathe just once a week. We perform daily hygiene routines every single day, I want to assume; at least we should. We know that we need to clean our houses daily, depending on the area, we clean it or straighten it up multiple times in a day. My point is you don’t just clean up once and be through with it, never to touch it again.

On this faith journey, you don't just repent or ask forgiveness one time. You don’t get saved and hit the nail on the head every time after that. You don’t become this perfect being (just like God) because you’ve accepted God into your life. That would be too good, right? Yeah, I wish it was that easy too! We, as humans being, do not like to be sorry or feel sorry. We don’t like to make mistakes. If anyone else is like me, you have to fight yourself from beating yourself up too bad for not being perfect. I know I am not the only one.

I have a question: why do we feel bad for needing God? He has creating this clear pathway to Him, yet we feel bad for having to walk it daily to get to Him. Meaning…asking for forgiveness to messing up. Again, I ask…why do we feel bad for needing God when He created the plan and the pathway to Him through Jesus Christ? It is okay that you have to repent. It is okay that you haven’t gotten it together. Lean on Him and depend on Him to carry you in those times. By no means am I saying to rest in your mistakes. What I am saying is accept that you need God. Daily…find space and time to clean yourself up. Wash yourself daily in the blood of Jesus Christ. Wash yourself in the Word of God. Find yourself in the scriptures. Find yourself in the presence of God. If you dont have the words to speak, that is okay. Wash yourself in meditating on His Word; sit in silence before God and let Him speak to you. Sing songs to Him. Wash yourself in His presence.

We do not only need God once. We need Him over and over and over again. I will be the first to declare, I will not feel bad for needing God! I do not care how small the need is…or how big the need is. God made a way for me to get to Him and to lean on Him; and I declare I will do just that. I NEED GOD!!! I need Him! And Yes...you, absolutely, need Him, too! We all need Him. We cannot make it without Him. No matter what title or position you or I may hold, we have to forever humble ourselves and bring ourselves to the foot of the cross.

Together, let’s vow to clean ourselves daily: in prayer, in worship, in praise, and in the Word of God. Let’s vow to daily meditate on His Word and find ourselves in the presence of God. Let’s not get bogged down about how much time we don’t have; make the time. This cleaning we cannot live without. Some of us may be able to go a day or two without cleaning ourselves or our homes…I meaannn…do you…(I definitely recommend cleaning yourself regularly though…haha) BUT, for real, when this life is over this cleaning through the Word of God is the only cleaning that will matter! I don’t want to be turned away on that GREAT day because of pride…thinking I can do it all without God.

Please don’ t feel bad for needing God. He knows you need Him, that is why He sent Jesus to die for us. God is not keeping a tally to see how many times you can do it without Him. He gets glory in us humbling ourselves and pulling on His strength. He is a jealous God, so He wants our first choice to be Him. He gave us all we'll need to make it, all of which is in Him. He wants and desires to hear, "God, I need You!" Let’s follow Jesus' example; He pulled and relied on God's strength too.

Have faith in God, and trust the plan. God loves you and He has proven that to you. Rest in His love. Lean and depend on Him. He is consistent and patient. He is gentle, good, and so forgiving!! If you’re broken and contrite(sorrowful)... Guess what? God will not turn you away. The scripture says that He will not despise that kind of heart (Psalms51:17)! Let Him make you whole through your submission to your need of Him. Anybody else desperate for God to make you whole? If so, comment: "I need God, daily!" Hallelujah!
